The Bridge House is a residential facility for adolescent females ages 12 to 18. Most of the young women in the care of Family Resources, a social services agency in Davenport providing a safe haven for women, children and families, have suffered some type of physical, emotional or sexual abuse prior to arrival. They carry varied mental health diagnosis and sometimes act outward/inward in destructive ways. Bridge House offers a safe place for girls to explore and understand themselves, their feelings and their disruptive patterns of behaviors.
In November 2013 JLQC provided an extreme makeover of the facility’s Comfort Room along with an “I AM” Wall. A comfort room is a designated space designed to calm the senses and provide a sanctuary away from stress. This room will be used as a tool to help the girls embrace calming techniques in order to decrease agitation and aggressive behavior.
Event will be held on Saturday, August 9th beginning at 7:30am. Event will be held in Coal Valley, IL at Case Creek Obstacles.
